Olympic gold medal gymnast Aly Raisman spoke to people in her hometown of Needham after riding in a parade in her honor.

Our very own Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman from Needham was proposed to ... with a Ring Pop!

Raisman was in Los Angeles at an Office Depot, signing autographs when a fan jokingly asked for her hand in marriage -- with a Ring Pop, People.com reports.
"I'll take the Ring Pop!" said a smiling Raisman, according to the report.

Raisman was at the Office Depot to help children from a Los Angeles-area charity shop for back-to-school supplies.

Speaking of marriage
....Television personality Rosie O'Donnell, who suffered a heart attack this month, revealed on her blog that she secretly married girlfriend Michelle Rounds in June, reports the AP.
An excerpt of her blog post reads:

my wife michelle
was diagnosed with desmoid tumors in june
a mysterious rare – too often fatal disease
that affects 3 in a million people

we were to wed 10 days ago
but her illness forced us to postpone the wedding
luckily -
as i was in ICU that day

when it rains …
things grow
like love and flowers
humans too

so on we go
we married in private
before her surgery
just the 2 of us

The pair announced they were engaged in December and originally planned to wed this month when health issues caused them to move up the ceremony.
O'Donnell is selling original paintings on eBay to raise money for the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation, reports the AP.
