Tom Cruise is suing Life & Style magazine for $50 million because of a July cover that featured a tearful photo of his 6-year-old daughter Suri and a headline that read "Abandoned by her dad."

Suri has been in the news a lot since the public break up of Cruise and Katie Holmes. But she was also featured in the magazine before they broke up this past June. Life & Style ran a cover story about Suri in March 2011 with the headline "Suri's twisted world."

But it's the July headline about abandonment that prompted Cruise to file a $50 million defamation lawsuit.

"Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri," Bert Fields, Cruise's attorney, told the Associated Press. "She's a vital part of his life and always will be," Fields said. "To say it in lurid headlines with a tearful picture of Suri is reprehensible."

Furthermore, said his lawyer, Cruise is not suing for the money and would give it to charity if he wins.

Do you think Cruise should win his lawsuit?
