Yesterday was not a very good day for Lindsay Lohan.

Not only was Lilo arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman at a club, but hours later she was also charged with lying to police in a separate incident.

First, the "Liz & Dick" star allegedly punched 28-year-old Tiffany Eve Mitchell at New York City's Avenue nightclub. Mitchell was visiting the club with her husband and Lohan when she and her posse tried to kick Mitchell out of the lounge area where they were sitting, reports E! News. Later, as Mitchell was walking out, Lohan reportedly punched her from behind and knocked her to the ground.

As for the lying, Santa Monica police charged Lohan for lying to cops about a car accident that happened in June in which Lohan's vehicle slammed into the back of the truck on a Los Angeles highway. Lohan told police she was not driving, but according to the E! News video above, a police investigation found her claim false.

Lohan was also in the news for fighting with her mom this fall as well as for canceling on Barbara Walters.

Her mom Dina Lohan said the cancellation had something to do with trying to focus on her professional, rather than her personal, life.

What do you think of Lohan's latest run-in with the law?
