Shaun White said goodbye to his famous mane this week. The extreme athlete posted a video to YouTube on Tuesday titled, "It's Only Hair," giving fans an inside look at the process as he donated his tresses to Locks of Love, a charitable organization that creates wigs for people who suffer from long-term illnesses.

White tweeted the video link on Tuesday morning to his 1 million followers, and it has been retweeted over 500 times.

"I've been thinking about this one for a while, but it's for a good cause, so I want to do it. Somebody needs it more than I do," White said in the video created using his GoPro camera. "I haven't told anyone I'm doing this. I'm just going to show up and mind-freak people. "

Would you consider donating your hair to Locks of Love? What do you think of White's decision? Let us know in the comments.
