Beloved Bostonian actor Mark Wahlberg, known for his versatility in films from "Ted" to "The Departed," is testing the waters in yet another role in front of the camera--as a weatherman.

Wahlberg appeared on Fox 29's "Good Day Philadelphia," on Wednesday morning to deliver the 7-day forecast and traffic report with Director Allen Hughes. Wahlberg and Hughes worked together on the film "Broken City," which hits theaters on Jan. 18.

The "Boogie Nights" actor even offered some advice to Philly residents who may be stuck in traffic for their commute:

“Look at this congestion here,” Wahlberg said. “We’re expecting 40- to 45-minute delays if you’re coming east bound on the 676 here. You’re going to have some serious problems. Why don’t you stop and get yourself a hoagie?”

Do you think Wahlberg has a new career in doing the weather?
