What does Lance Armstrong's former fiancee Sheryl Crow have to say about his confession to Oprah that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career?

The singer spoke publicly about it for the first time to Nancy O'Dell of "Entertainment Tonight."

"I think that honesty is always the best bet and that the truth will set you free," said Crow.

Crow gave the interview on the set of "The Voice" while sitting beside judge Blake Shelton. She'll be mentoring singers on Shelton's team for the new season, premiering in March.

"It's got to be really hard to walk around knowing that you're not telling the truth about something," Crow said.

Crow began dating Armstrong in 2003. They got engaged in 2005 and broke up the following year. Read more about Crow and Armstrong at nydailynews.com.

As for whether or not she knew about his doping, O'Dell said the singer was not willing to talk about that.

"I think he's fascinating. What a fascinating character," Cooper told BBC News.

Do you think Cooper would make a good Armstrong on the big screen?
