"American Idol" season 12 finalist Angie Miller is taking on the role of spokesperson for the 7th annual New England Walk4Hearing this fall, one of 22 5K walks happening across the country this year to raise funds and awareness for those suffering from hearing loss in the U.S.

Miller stunned the judges last season when she auditioned with Jessie J.'s "Mama Knows Best," after telling the panel that she has suffered from partial hearing loss for most of her life. Check out the audition video above.

The event, organized by the Hearing Loss Association of America and its local New England chapters, will start on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Artesani Park in Brighton at 11 a.m. Attendees and supporters of the walk are invited to a kick-off picnic on Sunday, Sept. 15 at noon at Gore Place in Waltham.
