Well, someone had to say it.

Sir Elton John told The Australian he "[looks] at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen. And she's so young! But she's got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her?"

In the recent interview, the knighted pop icon said that he can "spot a car crash before it happens," citing the untimely death of Michael Jackson, and spun his words for Cyrus in a positive light -- namely as "advice for candles in the wind."

Cyrus isn't the only troubled young starlet John has his eyes (and words) on.

The "Tiny Dancer" singer also touched on friend (and godmother to John's sons, Zachary and Elijah) Lady Gaga, stating: "Iíd like to be able to talk to her right now, but I canít get through to her... When your persona begins to take over your music and becomes more important, you enter a dangerous place."

Rehab frequenter Lindsay Lohan has also been recently linked to the Grammy winner, who told The Sun that his new song, "The Diving Board," was inspired by the star.

John told the newspaper:

It could be a summation of my career because it's about young people becoming successful and diving off into the unknown. What's going to happen? Are they going to survive it? Are they going to become victims of their own success? ... You could actually say it's about me, but I was thinking about Lindsay Lohan when I was writing it.
