While visions of sugar plums were dancing in our heads, Justin Bieber announced he was officially retiring via Twitter.
The Biebs may have broken some hearts via Twitter on Christmas Eve when he posted a trio of tweets in succession about his so-called upcoming break from the music game.
My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) December 25, 2013
The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle.— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) December 25, 2013
Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) December 25, 2013
If he's there for us -- ahem, his loyal following -- forever, why stop making music in the first place? We're confused.
All of this happened eerily close to the release of his new film, "Believe," which dropped on Christmas. Could it be a marketing scheme? We may never know.
He told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 he was during a radio interview on Dec. 17, so there could be some truth to this hard to Beliebe tale.
