Orlando Bloom is speaking out about his split with Miranda Kerr.
The couple has been married for three years and together for six. They have a 3-year-old son named Flynn.
He told Katie Couric on her show, airing today, "We love each other, we're a family. We're going to be in each others' lives for the rest of our lives."
The 36-year-old actor said, "Life sometimes doesn't work out as we planned or hoped for," but stressed how much the couple loves Flynn.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have split after six years together and three years of marriage.
They confirmed the break-up to E! News.
Six months ago Kris Jenner didn't sound like a woman who was about to separate from her husband. Check out the photo she posted on Instagram, complete with the message:
Happy Anniversary Bruce!!!! Best 22 years I could ever have imagined...hope the next 22 is even more fabulous...I love you!
However, after months of rumors that they were having trouble, the couple announced yesterday that they have separated.FULL ENTRY
If you were wondering what Harry Styles and his mates in One Direction thought of T-Swift's many expressions (including the "STFU" eye roll) and alleged award acceptance dig at her ex during the VMAs, they want to make it clear: they're laughing at you, Taylor.
Vulture caught up with the guys of 1D during the New York premiere of their film "This is Us," and Liam Payne was quick to pipe up: "When she said those things about Niall [Horan], we were very, very pissed off."
In case you missed it, Swift dated Styles, not Horan. (It was for like a second, so it's possible you did.) The other guys in the British boy band are pretending that they were the one who has drawn Swift's lyrical venom.
Horan added, "I was so upset that she would go writing songs about me after all we've been through."
And Liam continues: "Hashtag get over it." Ouch.
Styles, like a true gent, refused to comment on the topic.
Your move, Taylor.

Katy Perry was spotted in New York City last night holding hands with ex-beau John Mayer while exiting a party at the Waldorf Astoria. The Daily Mail released the snaps of the "Wide Awake" songstress and her "Paper Doll" crooner leaving the Friars Club Roast of Don Rickles, clutching a tiny Tiffany & Co. bag. E! Online also noted the exes were spotted by photographers at both the Greenwich and Bowery Hotels in New York Sunday night.
Just last month, Perry was rumored to be linked to "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson after the two were also spotted at the Bowery by Hollywood Life. However, Perry seemed set the record straight when she revealed in the July issue of Vogue that she is still 'madly in love with' the 35-year-old Mayer.
The two were first rumored to be dating in August 2012 after they were spotted by E! on a night out in L.A., but Mayer confirmed their split on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" back in April. "I've been much happier since then," he told the talk show host.
E! first reported their alleged reunion over Memorial Day weekend when they were said to be "hanging out" at a party hosted by Perry.
Perry split from 38-year-old comedian Russell Brand in February 2012. She told Vogue Brand texted her in December 2011 requesting a divorce. The two were married in 2010.
No official comment on the rumored relationship has been released from either artists' camps.

Jessica Simpson's father, Joe, said he would "still have a beer" with his daughter's former husband, Nick Lachey, after the 98 Degrees front man trashed him on "Watch What Happens Live" last month. When host Andy Cohen had Lachey and his brother Drew on the Bravo talk show, he asked Nick, "What is the best thing about no longer having Joe Simpson as a father-in-law?"
Drew piped in first with a firm, "Everything!"
But Nick laughed it off, adding, "The best thing about not having Joe Simpson as a father-in-law is I don't have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday."
The elder Lachey also added that it had been about "six years" since he last spoke to his ex-wife. "It was like another lifetime ago," he said.
The "Newlyweds" stars married in 2002 and later divorced in 2006. Lachey then wed Vanessa Minnillo in 2011 and celebrated the birth of their first child in 2012. Meanwhile, Jessica is expecting her second child with fiance Eric Johnson.
However, Joe seems to be taking the remark with stride. When approached by a TMZ camera crew outside West Hollywood's Greystone Manor with a gaggle of ladies, he told the gossip network: "I love Nick and I think he was a good husband to my daughter." He added that he would still grab a beer with the singer today, even though the comment caught him off guard.
What do you think of Joe's response? Do you think Lachey was out of line? Sound off here.

"Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson, 27, and Kristen Stewart, 23, have reportedly called it quits -- again.
E! News reports in the video above that Robsten broke up Saturday after three years of dating. However, Rob did not move out. So perhaps the split is not a permanent one?
Who could forget the drama last summer when Stewart cheated on Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, the married director of her flick, "Snow White and the Huntsman."
Things have been strange between the two this month, reports People.com. They have been spending less and less time together and Stewart was MIA on Pattinson's birthday May 13. She is apparently pretty upset about the break, according to People's sources, and hasn't left her house in days.

Country star Jason Aldean filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years, Jessica Ussery, Friday afternoon.
The "1994" singer released an official statement Monday, saying:
"Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our #1 priority."
Aldean and Ussery wed in 2001 and have two daughters, Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5, for who the singer added, "for my girls’ sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at the very least be respectful of them."
The 36-year-old previously came under fire when photos of him kissing former "American Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr surfaced last fall. Aldean issued an apology following the leak, stating:
"The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself."
Aldean walked the red carpet with Ussery at the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards shortly after the scandal, but sadly it seems as though the couple's days were numbered. The "My Kinda Party" singer cited "irreconcilable differences" as reason for the filing.

Just a short time after it was reported that Julianne Hough was robbed of over $100,000 worth of jewelry given to her by Ryan Seacrest, the couple of more than two year's has called it quits, according to sources for People. Think the two are related?
The People sources attributed the breakup to the couple's conflicting, busy schedules. See the video above for details.
And as far as the jewelry goes: Oof. $100,000 worth of goods (three pieces) was taken from Hough's Mercedes while she was visiting a friend at an apartment complex.
Hough, a former "Dancing With the Stars" cast member-turned-actress (you might have seen her in the recently reviewed "Safe Haven") returned to her vehicle in Hollywood to find the door to the car was wide open, according to a Hollyscoop report below.
Are you disappointed in the breakup? Did you like the Hough-Seacrest union? Let us know in the comments!
Britney Spears and agent Jason Trawick officially called off their engagement just after it hit its one year anniversary late last week. "The X-Factor" judge's rep, Jeff Raymond, exclusively confirmed the news to PEOPLE, stating that the decision to end the engagement had been "mutually agreed" upon, adding: "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."
People.com also quotes a close source that implies the couple just wanted "different things," while a second unnamed source adds, "Britney had a lot of issues with Jason doing his own thing – in business and seeing his friends. In her perfect world he would have been home with her 24-seven."
Trawick was named co-conservator (with father, Jamie Spears) of Spears' well-being following his engagement to the pop star back in April 2011, but the AP confirmed he has resigned as of Friday. Jamie will resume full responsibility for the sometimes troubled starlet who has been under court-ordered conservatorship since her much publicized 2008 meltdown.
Details of the exes financial settlements have not been released.
