Forget your run of the mill flowers, dinner, and romance. When it comes to gift giving, these celebrities go big and outside the box. After news of an elaborate birthday celebration thrown by supermodel Naomi Campbell this week for her Russian-billionaire boyfriend, we decided to take a look at some other over-the-top gifts celebrities have given to their significant others.
Campbell reportedly spoiled her boyfriend, 50-year-old Vladimir Doronin, with fireworks, traditional Indian music, and dancing in a 15th-century Mehrangar Fort in the city of Jodhpur on Nov. 6. A second party for Doronin was slated for Nov. 7 at a medieval palace-turned-hotel called Umaid Bhawan. All 42 rooms at the hotel were booked for Campbell’s guests.

Kim Kardashian really took Kanye West’s love for Lamborghinis to heart. The reality TV star bought her boyfriend and “Mercy” singer (derived from the Lamborghini Murcielago model) a $750,000 Aventador LP 700-4 for his 35th birthday in June. Her cat, which she often shows off on her Instagram account, sports the name “Mercy,” in honor of her beau’s famous beats.

Forbes’s wealthiest celebrity couple this year is less than shy when it comes to gift giving. Jay-Z, who took in $38 million last year, bought his wife, Beyonce, an island off the coast of Florida in 2010 for a cool $20 million. Beyonce, who raked in $40 million in 2011, gifted the “99 Problems” rapper with a $2 million Bugatti in 2010 for his 41st birthday.

Pitt reportedly plans to build a home on the land in an ode to his favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tied the knot in Italy in October where the “SexyBack” singer presented his bride with a priceless present. As Biel walked down the aisle, Timberlake serenaded her with an original song that he says had “grown men weeping.”

Russell Brand and Katy Perry finalized their divorce this year, but not before Perry gifted her then hubby-to-be with a trip to outerspace. Perry spent $200,000 on a seat aboard Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic space adventure in 2010. According to an E! Online report, “Brand and the other brave participants will jet more than 365,000 feet straight into the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed three times faster than the speed of sound. Then they can unfasten their seatbelts and float weightlessly for five minutes before shuttling back to Earth.” It was the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” actor’s 35th birthday present.

This year Jennifer Lopez, the dancer-turned-singer-turned-actress and mother of twins bought her current boyfriend, Casper Smart, a custom Dodge Ram with all the fixin’s for his 25th birthday.
Lopez, 42, who has been married three times, met the choreographer “through their work,” according to a New York Post report. Smart was promoted to choreographer for Lopez’s world tour with Enrique Iglesias in May.

“Magic Mike” star Channing Tatum was in for a big surprise at his 32nd birthday party from his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum. The choreographer, who’s danced in videos for Justin Timberlake and appeared in films like “Step Up” (where she and Tatum met), arranged for a flash mob to dance to “Time of my Life” from “Dirty Dancing” on his birthday party this year.
