Happy to be doing this. Love to answer any questions readers have about the show, the auditions. |

02:04PM |
Sam, after seeing yourself edited for television over the past 10 weeks and on last nights "Summary Show" what do you think of how you were portrayed and what would you have done different? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:04PM |
I think that I was portayed accurately. It is far more enjoyable at my disasterous moments. That's what they're going to show. I make no excuses for the editing. I got very frustrated with the team |
|
Sam Solovey
02:04PM |
But differently, I was too fast, too quickly. I should have taken my time more. |

02:06PM |
Sam, would you advise the players to throw their teammates under the bus if It would save you from being "fired" |
|
Sam Solovey
02:06PM |
No, I don't believe in that. I think everyone wins by playing together. That's not the way I play in life. It was done to me on the show, I've seen it done. It's not a good strategy. Of course, you have to defend yourself. |

Sam, your recent commercial with Donald Trump about the Miss America pagent is a riot! Tell us how it is working with Donald after the show. Does he really have a sense of humor? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:07PM |
The guy's got a great sense of humor. Imagine sitting there and taping the thing, while I'm sitting there in a dress. He respects me, because I'm willing to do anything for the show...to promote it. He's kind of laughing at himself the loudest. |
|
Hands of an Economis...
02:09PM |
Sam you seem to have a case of "Napolean Complex", do you think this factored into your firing?? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:09PM |
I think that when you're a shorter guy...being a little crazy and loud....If you look at it physiologically, when you're shorter, you have to be a little more wound to get noticed. Over time, you see a lot of shorter men and women are fiesty. You're tyring to be heard. Maybe I have it...did it have to do with my firing. No. I don't think Donald Trump cares about that. |

02:11PM |
Who do you think is going to win in the end? Erica |
|
Sam Solovey
02:11PM |
I got my eye on Nick. Works 100% commission. He's tough. I think he might be able to get the job done. If he doesn't win, it'll be close. I like sales people, too. I think they're underestimated as leaders. |

02:12PM |
Hey Sam. Any tips for someone attending the casting call for the sequel tommorow? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:12PM |
You better be bold, and show a lot of personality. Have a lot of sass. They're probably sit you in a group of 6-10...try and steer the conversation. Be controversial and get responses from people. Be yourself. If you wear a suit, wear it. If you wear flip-flop, wear it. |

02:14PM |
other than NBC promos, etc., has the program increased your employment opportunities? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:14PM |
I've got an opprotunity to host a radio talk show. I've read for a sitcom. I haven't got any business opporntunities to leave my current position. But I'm getting all sort of random offers. We'll see what drops. |

02:16PM |
did you really fall asleep during the challenge or was that staged? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:16PM |
It was not staged, but I was only on the floor for 3 minutes. I just didn't feel well. I was sick, hadn't eaten, and I had to lay down. I wasn't down there for 3 hours. |

02:18PM |
Who was your favorite female contestant? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:18PM |
Kristi was absolutely stunning. Personality...Jesse. She's someone to watch the next few years. And Heidi..she may be a little fouled mouth but she's the real deal. Katrina's pretty hot too. I'm 5-foot-6, and her legs were taller than me. |

George Ross
02:20PM |
How long were the board meetings? Surely they must be longer than what the show on air. |
|
Sam Solovey
02:20PM |
I felt like they were 10 hours long. But all honestly, they were about an hour, and hour and twenty minutes. There was a lot more interaction going on there than what you see. |
|

02:22PM |
Why did you give the Donald the "evil eye" after you were "fired"? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:22PM |
It wasn't an evil eye...that's just the way it looked. I was just devastated. I was very passionate about being there. You just saw the dissapointment in my eyes. That's about it. |
|
Kimba
02:23PM |
What do you think of George and Caroline |
|
Sam Solovey
02:23PM |
Off the show...great. ON the show...Caroline kind of got me. On the show, George was a little old school...I was too of the cuff. I think on the show Caroline came off more icey than she is. |

02:27PM |
At what point during the auditions did you get to meet Trump? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:27PM |
Never. I did not meet him until what you saw when we introduced ourselves. I had never met him before. I felt like I knew him after reading all his books. I was definitely the most comfortable when we met him because I felt like we knew him. |

02:30PM |
Sam, when did you realize that you're certifiable? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:30PM |
hahaha...that's funny. I'm not, even though 95% people think I am. I'm the type where 5% get me, and the other part quit before they get me. I have great friends, business partners and associates. It just takes a little longer for people to warm up to me. I'm just passionate about life and what I pursue. Not everyone has to get me...that's ok. |

02:33PM |
DID YOU LIKE OMAROSA |
|
Sam Solovey
02:33PM |
On a personal level...yes. She's very charming when not on business issues. I never had the interaction with her on a business level. And the men have the same views. The men didn't have the problems with her...we got along pretty well with her in the beginning. |
|

02:35PM |
do you keep in touch with anyone from the show? Go Gate!!! |
|
Sam Solovey
02:35PM |
I keep in touch with Heidi. I'm in NY with her now. Bouey and Bill. And Jesse and Omarosa. I keep in touch with all of them. And hell, I can't keep in touch will all of them at a regular basis, but those are the ones I keep in contact with. |

02:37PM |
How far off is the actual taping from now? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:37PM |
We all arrived Sept. 11, everything wrapped up in October. When you leave the show, you stay in New York. You arrive together, and you all leave together. |

ColgateAlum2001
02:40PM |
Describe your experience at Colgate University, and how has it affected your career, both positive and negative |
|
Sam Solovey
02:40PM |
There's been nothing negative about Colgate. It was the liberal arts education that really prepared me. The whole thing you saw, though it was a negative experience on the show.....it was the out of the box thought that I got from Colgate. The small classrooms, saying what you thought...that's why I loved Colgate. On the show it didn't work. But in the real world....it was the best four years of my life. There is nothing better than a liberal arts education. But the education I got from the show was better than any I've ever gotten. It was priceless. |

Was Troy really as aw shucks as he appears? or is he a shrewd hardheaded businessman? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:43PM |
He's shrewd. I think people are fooled by the accent. He doesn't miss a beat. But he was a fish out of water in New York A very unfamiliar environment for him. Or maybe he pulled the wool over all of us. |

02:46PM |
Were you serious when you said that Donald Trump would have to "punch you in the stomach" to get you to sit down? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:46PM |
They were questioning my integrity....I was just making a point where I am excited about something, and you have to punch me in the stomach to stop. |

02:48PM |
Sam-What did you think of Donald Trump and how he runs his businness empires? I was pulling for you... |
|
Sam Solovey
02:48PM |
I think he is a genius. Like a family. His average employee has been there for 20 years. He gets the loyalty and gives it in return. I don't think people get fired in his companies. I think you fire yourself. It's a lean operation. It's very personable...not a lot of computers. You won't see Donald Trump on e-mail. He's right in the thick of it, and his door's always open. |

02:50PM |
Did your Dad offer any words of advice in the "Pep Talk"? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:50PM |
He said you have to be a leader, and you have to back up your leader. I may not have been the best leader, but I got no back up either. And my dad's my best friend, and offers great advice. I'm glad they left that in there. |

02:53PM |
Sam, do you feel that there were/are players that are bascially dishonest? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:53PM |
I don't think so. I think some of Troy's ideas go to the edge. But I don't think he's dishonest. I think some people are just more ruthless. Omarosa is ruthless. Troy is ruthless. Actually, I think what Troy and Kwame did with the autographs was dishonest, but they're not inherantly dishonest people. |

02:57PM |
how much down time did you have between tasks and what did you do w/ it? |
|
Sam Solovey
02:57PM |
You dont' get a lot. When you don't have a task, you're interviewed by producers about the task. And that can take a couple hours, and they're looking for one small piece for the show. But not much free time at all. |

You're all fired. No, seriously...enjoy the rest of the show. There are some good episodes coming up, and I'll see you at the finale. |
