If you habitually sign in to Twitter, you may have noticed that the service's "Trending Topics" are sometimes more of a bulletin for celebrity death notices. If you checked the topics this week, you might have been shocked to see that "RIP Kanye West" was at the top of the list.

It wasn't true. And although the rumor was quickly debunked by West's girlfriend Amber Rose, it continued to circulate.
