Karaoke takes to the street
Dozens of folks showed up at Downtown Crossing yesterday for the Limelight Karaoke Contest, where judges Tonya Mezrich , Limelight owner Marti Speranza , and the Mandarin Oriental’s Edwina Kluender picked a couple of winners to represent Massachusetts at the national championships. Crowned king and queen of karaoke were Zach Williams and a woman named Tatum Harvey .
A whale of a fashion show
The sun came out just in time for Boldfacers gal Lisa Pierpont to emcee a fashion show at the New England Aquarium’s outdoor restaurant the Reef last night. Not surprisingly, the Aquarium went for a blue carpet for VIPs (as opposed to a red one). Fashion came courtesy of Boston’s Sun Spot in Faneuil Hall.
A grand night at the Garden
There were legends aplenty at the Tradition, last night’s fund-raiser for the Sports Museum at the TD Banknorth Garden. Award recipients included former Sox pitcher Curt Schilling , ex-Pat Troy Brown , figure skater Nancy Kerrigan , Celtic great Sam Jones , former Bruin Ken Hodge , and hockey coaches Jack Parker and Jerry York .

Lester caps rally at Marshfield school
Sox pitcher Jon Lester paid a visit to Furnace Brook Middle School in Marshfield yesterday as part of Rally Against Cancer Day. Furnace Brook was the top fund-raising school, raising $21,269 to support adult and pediatric cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
