Kerry daughter charged with DUI
Gossip site TMZ.com is reporting that Alexandra Kerry, Sen. John Kerry’s daughter, was arrested in Los Angeles this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence. Kerry, 36, is a producer in Hollywood. She has also had small acting roles in movies such as David Mamet’s “State and Main.”
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Richard French tells us that Kerry was pulled over at 12:40 a.m. for a misdemeanor traffic violation. "That morphed into a DUI arrest," he said. Kerry was released on $5,000 bail at about 5:30 a.m.

"Grown Ups" first look
Seems like "Grown Ups" just finished filming and already the trailer is online. The movie, which filmed this summer in and around Gloucester, stars Adam Sandler and his buddies Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, and Maria Bello. Anyway, here it is. See what you think.
Joey Mac attack
New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre is back with a solo track and his pals at People.com posted the vid. "I've made a lot of music in my life, but this is the boldest and most raw stuff yet," McIntyre, 36, tells the web site. "I had some angst to get off my chest and I did that through this music. Bottom line is, I'm tired of saying no, so I'm saying, 'Yeah!' I wanna rock. I hope it makes you say, 'Yeah,' too!" It also makes us say, "What's with the Auto-Tune, Joe?" Here's the video.
Tom Brady is the "Man...of the Year."
So what if he couldn't convert on fourth and two, Tom Brady is still "Man of the Year." As much for his pinup persona off the field as his play on it, the Pats QB is one of five fashionable fellows picked to appear on the cover of GQ's annual "Men of the Year" issue And Brady's in good company. The other guys gracing the cover are President Barak Obama, director Clint Eastwood, "The Hangover" stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis, and "Star Trek" topliner Chris Pine. The issue, which is out next week, includes a picture of Brady doing something we doubt he actually does - ironing. (The pic, we're told, was taken during a mid-September shoot at the Beacon Street abode of Brady's neighbor, developer Peter Georgantas.) In the accompanying article, the three-time Super Bowl champ talks about family, football, and fashion. Discussing his wedding - the first one in L.A. - Brady says he and his supermodel spouse Gisele Bundchen pulled it together in in a hurry. "We planned it in like ten days, and it was perfect,” he says. “We went back to the house and I barbecued aged New York strips. We had champagne, a cake, some ice cream. It was a great night. I think you always have this idea that weddings need to be 200 people and you invite everybody, and I’m all for it if people want to do that, but I think there was really something special about just having our parents there.” Although he's played well since returning from injury, Brady admits he hasn't had the same intensity week in and week out. “The Friday before the Falcons game, Kevin Faulk came up to me and said, ‘You doing all right?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And he just said, “Well, I’ve played with you for a long time, and there’s just something that’s a little different now.’" says No. 12. "I think it was my intensity -- or lack of it. And after the game, I said, ‘Man, I really appreciate what you said, and know that I take it to heart.’...I gotta figure out the reason why it hasn’t been there.” Brady, who may be the only NFL QB to meet Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld - at Lagerfeld’s house in Paris - and dine with Christian Dior designer John Galliano, said his style is his own. "I think any man who lets a woman pick what he should wear… I mean, you gotta draw the line somewhere as a man. I see these guys, ‘My wife told me to wear this!’ And I just shake my head.” GQ is throwing a party tomorrow night in L.A. to celebrate the issue, but Tom, we're told, will not be there, and that's just fine with us.
They've got high hopes

Clay Buchholz is the marrying kind
BoSox pitcher Clay Buchholz and his fiancee, "Deal or No Deal" model Lindsay Clubine, will walk down the aisle tomorrow in California. The pair, who've been an item for over a year, are getting hitched at Trump National Golf Club in LA. A few nights before their big day, Clay and Clubine treated guests to a pre-celebration of sorts at Twelve + Highland, a restaurant in Manhattan Beach, Ca. Organized by DB3 Productions, the event was also a fundraiser for the Red Sox Foundation. Among those walking the red carpet were Sox players Jacoby Ellsbury, Dusty Brown, and Casey Kotchman, soccer players Zach Thornton, Ante Razov, Oguchi Onyewu, and Clubine's "Deal or No Deal" colleagues Katie Cleary , Crystal Monte, and Megan Abrigo.

Say, aren't you Derek Jeter?

World Series winner Derek Jeter this week donned a fright wig for a cameo in "The Other Guys," a cop caper co-starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. The Yankees captain plays himself in the film, but far in the future, when he's done winning titles and is down on his luck. Jeter previously had a small role in the Jack Nicholson flick "Anger Management" and appeared on "Seinfeld." The film, which is shooting now in New York, is due to be released next summer.

Gordon Gano drops by Mullen's Boston office
Before his gig at the Middle East the other night, Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano dropped by Mullen's Boston office, treating employees of the ad agency to an unplugged version of the Femmes classic "Blister in the Sun." Why? Gano is touring with Bill and Brendan Ryan - a.k.a. the Ryan Brothers - who are pals with Mullen creative director Chris Brady.
Enchanted, we're sure

Eliot Tatelman would like to welcome you to the Enchanted Village. Welcome you back, that is. The holiday display that drew generations to Jordan Marsh back in the day, opens tomorrow at its new location: Jordan's Furniture in Avon. Tatelman, the pony-tailed president and CEO of Jordan's, bought the village at auction for $140,000 because it seemed like a tradition worth saving. "But I'm not trying to come across like that's the only reason," he said. "We're hoping to bring 100,000 people though the store." Tatelman, who has fond memories of visiting the Enchanted Village with his mother, said the 8,000-square-foot display has been completely restored by a team of Jordan's employees. "The mannequins have new motors, the clothing's all been touched up, it's professionally lit, and there's snow," said Tatelman. "It's been Jordanized." And did we mention it's free?

Bergeron is all eyes and ears in Boston

It's not for no reason that Tom Bergeron's book is titled, "I'm Hosting as Fast as I Can!" Since departing WBZ in 1994, Bergeron has cobbled together a very respectable career hosting several TV shows. (He's currently on his 10th season of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and the ninth season of "Dancing with the Stars.") "I liken my career to a hostage note," said Bergeron, who is in town tonight to host the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary's "Light Up the Night" event. "The letters have all been cut from different magazines, but it makes sense when you read them together." How did a kid from Haverhill make it in Hollywood. "I'm very comfortable on live TV, and most people are frightened by it," he said. Yes, but can he dance? "I can be taught," Bergeron said. "I'm a good student." Last night's event honored Hyperbaric Medicine booster Norman Knight, ophthalmologists Dr. Joan Miller and Evangelos Gragoudas.
Tito disses Nomar

Sox manager Terry Francona gave SBLI chief Bob Sheridan the Arthritis Foundation's Lifetime Achievement award at the Fairmont Copley the other night. Tito told a few funny stories about former Sox Manny Ramirez and Nomar Garciaparra, whose popularity Francona admitted he misjudged. "I thought he was just a shortstop who wasn't very good anymore," the skipper told the crowd. In the audience were F1 honcho R.J.Valentine, foremost flack George Regan, and Barbara Capuano, wife of Congressman Mike Capuano.
Ladies love Kellan Lutz

A flock of young women with fangs on the brain gathered at the Natick Collection last night to glimpse Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the much-adored "Twilight" series. Touring suburban malls to promote "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the actor chatted with fans at a VIP event at Nordstrom and then faced the masses at Hot Topic, the mecca for all things Twilight. Lutz talked to us before facing his "Twilight" groupies and insisted he doesn't mind the vampire-loving mob that follows him around. He's thankful for the attention, though he wishes he had more time during junkets and fan conventions to actually see the cities he's visiting. "I have no time," he said. "Half them time I never leave the hotel." (That said, he was making a special effort to see On the Surface, the Boston-bred band featuring the adorable Heather Fogarty, tonight at the Middle East) Lutz said that he and his vampire co-stars -- including Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene -- have become close over the course of three movies. (The cast recently finished shooting the third "Twilight" film, "Eclipse.") He said he knows the vampires better than the werewolves because the two actors don't mingle much. Why? The groups of actors are on set at different times. "We all stick to our pack or coven," he joked, adding that in real life, all of the young actors who play werewolves follow their wolf leader, Taylor Lautner, like little puppies. Natick Collection security estimated that about 500 people came out for the Lutz event. Gabby Arnold drove up with her mom from Hamden, CT. The 15-year-old girl, who slept on the floor of the mall a few weeks ago just to get a bracelet to attend yesterday's event, was thrilled when Lutz signed her poster. "I'm going to hang this on my wall next to my, like, 500 other pictures," said Arnold.

Janeane Garofalo won't e-mail you
![]()

An interesting tidbit about Janeane Garofalo -- she doesn't have an e-mail account.
The comedian, who's famous for "Reality Bites" and "24," tells us that she stopped using e-mail long ago because it's so addictive. "I was spending hours and hours. You can never get your arms around the e-mail. It's just easier to talk to the person."
Garofalo, who appears at the Wilbur Theatre on Friday as part of a double bill with her "Daily Show" pal Rob Riggle has become somewhat of a political activist over the last few years and has been targeted by conservative radio hosts for her opinions about everything from the Middle East to the Boston Tea Party.
Garofalo said she has grown used to being criticized and in some cases harassed for her beliefs. She said she finds the dialogue "invigorating," although she admits that when you speak out, "You get to meet some of the worst people you've ever met."
Garofalo, who used to live in Boston, said she strongly believes that her protestors treat her with less respect because she's a woman. They approach her on the street and try to intimidate her.
She joked that she's rarely bothered when she's out with Riggle -- mainly because that as a beefy Marine Corps officer-turned comedian who served in Afghanistan and Kosovo, he makes for the perfect bodyguard.
Harvard's Ashley Judd is honored

Harvard University grad student Ashley Judd was in Beverly Hills earlier this week to receive the USA Today Hollywood Hero award for her work with YouthAIDS. Before the ceremony, the actress, who is now studying public policy, talked to reporter USA Today Ann Oldenburg about what it's like to be in ivy leaguer. "I'm trying to convince myself to get over the dream of straight A's. Nobody cares. But I still have that undergraduate aggressive pride. I got a check last week instead of a check plus and I was really not pleased."
Judd also said her interaction with her fellow Kennedy School students was "bumpy at first." "I'm really not a big deal," she said, "but apparently they didn't get the memo."
Taylor Swift to play Gillette Stadium

We're told Taylor Swift, who just won Entertainer of Year at the Country Music Awards, will play her first headlining stadium show in Foxborough. That's right, Swift, who's been playing arenas on this tour, jumps up to the big time with a show at Gillette Stadium in early June. (Tickets go on sale next month.) In winning Entertainer of the Year, the 19-year-old newcomer beat out old boys Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and George Strait. (The last solo female artist to win the award was Shania Twain 1999.) Swift, who's touring in support of her platinum-selling CD "Fearless," is an excellent bet to fill Gillette considering the success of the New England Country Music Festival, which is held annually at the stadium. Since 2006, Swift has had 11 tunes debut in the top 30, according to Billboard. Only the Beatles have totaled more top 30 starts in the Hot 100's archives. Swift isn't the only act who'll rev up the Razor next summer. Bill Belichick's buddy Jon Bon Jovi will play Gillette July 24.
Lambert dating a Berklee guy?
If you believe the tabloids -- and sometimes we do -- Adam Lambert's new boyfriend is singer Ferras Alqaisi.
That's relevant to Boston because Ferras is a former Berklee College of Music student.
Lambert has denied that the two are a couple.
Jamie McCourt speaks

The always entertaining Los Angeles Times columnist T.J. Simers caught with Jamie McCourt, soon-to-be ex-wife of Dodgers owner Frank McCourt. His interview with her, linked here, is worth reading. At one point, he asks about the Globe's story about the McCourts's messy divorce, linked here.

Kim Kardashian is not coming to Boston this Friday. She was supposed to be in town to help Gypsy Bar celebrate its anniversary, but cancelled because of a "filming conflict." Gypsy Bar says New York City ’s DJ Roctakon and Montreal ’s DJ Yossi will appear in her place. The party starts at 9 p.m., if you're still interested.
BU grad Ginnifer Goodwin talks turkey
Boston University grad Ginnifer Goodwin is all for turkeys -- protecting them, not eating them.
The actress, best known for “Big Love” and “He’s Just Not That Into You,” stars in a new public service announcement campaign for Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey project, which aims to keep turkeys safe from slaughter.
Goodwin says, on Farm Sanctuary's website, “After spending time with the rescued turkeys at Farm Sanctuary’s shelter and seeing how similar they are to my furry companion animals at home, I knew I needed to do everything in my power to protect these friendly and curious birds from the daily pain and suffering they endure on factory farms.”
Goodwin also says, of her recent trip to the shelter, “I grew fairly attached to a turkey named Magnolia. And there’s a ... goat who likes to play good-natured butting-heads games with humans. I dug her.” For the record, Goodwin -- a vegan -- says she'll be cooking Tofurky for Thanksgiving.
First look at 'Locked In'
"Valediction," the Eliza Dushku-Ben Barnes movie that was shot around South Boston a few months ago, appears to have a new name. The thriller-drama is now called "Locked In." There's already a trailer for the film. Here it is:
Another day, another Krasinski sighting

We paid a lot of attention to John Krasinski when he was in town over the weekend screening his new movie "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men." Now that he's gone, my colleague is sad. So here he is with his sweetheart Emily Blunt at a party last night in New York.

Matt Damon doing what Matt Damon does
The U.S. State Department has created a new video focused on food security and global hunger, and homeboy Matt Damon narrates. Here's a look.
Krasinski comes home

It looks like John Krasinski is on “The Office” to stay. "I would never leave,” said the actor who plays Jim Halpert on the NBC show. The Newton native is town to promote his latest film, “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men,” and yesterday he stopped by the Globe to chat with Boston.com readers. Krasinski wrote, directed, and stars in the film, which began as a staged reading when he was a student at Brown. (The movie is based on the David Foster Wallace book of the same name.) Though his "Office" co-stars couldn’t make it to last night's screening at the Kendall Square Cinema - “I’ll forgive them just this once” - his parents, brothers, and assorted Brown buddies were. Krasinski told us fame is both good and bad. On the one hand, he's happy his film might entice people to read Wallace, who committed suicide last year. On the other, there's way too much attention paid to, say, his recent engagement to actress Emily Blunt. “It's not only strange but completely and totally surreal," he said. "It feels like you're in a weird dream -- or a nightmare.” Krasinski will talk about Wallace tonight at Brookline Booksmith and the film screens again at the Kendall. (The transcript of his chat is at www.boston.com/ae.)
Someone detained in Brady wedding shooting

A security guard is reportedly in custody in connection with the shooting at the wedding of Pats QB Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. An AFP reporter witnessed a half-dozen officers raid the Avahuer security company, which oversaw the April 4 wedding in Costa Rica. Authorities identified the detainee as Alexander Rivas Barahona, a security agent of Colombian nationality. AFP photographer Yuri Cortez and Rolando Aviles, a freelancer who was working for Costa Rican daily Al Dia, were covering the wedding reception at Bundchen's home in Costa Rica when the incident occurred. According to a lawsuit filed by AFP and the photographers, Cortez and Aviles were driven to the Bundchen property and ordered by bodyguards to hand over their cameras and memory cards. When they refused, the guards opened fire on their vehicle, according to the suit. The lawsuit, filed in a US District Court in New York, accuses Brady and his Brazilian-born wife of "negligence and carelessness" and seeks one million dollars in damages.

Trinette Faint with Elizabeth Hurley
Trinette Faint, 38, of Somerville, won the Harper’s Bazaar-Estee Lauder-sponsored Fabulous at Every Age contest last week.
Faint, who used to be Matt Damon’s personal assistant, is a photographer who also runs FaintServicesGroup.com, a personal assistance company catering to film stars in town for movie projects. The Estee Lauder-Bazaar honor came with a $10,000 cash prize, a bunch of Estee Lauder goodies, and the chance to meet actress Elizabeth Hurley, the face of Estee Lauder. Faint says she’ll use the cash to start a new hair care product company, LoveHue.com, which will launch after Thanksgiving.
Faint said, of meeting Hurley at the Bazaar party, “She was so nice. I was completely blown away by the level of sincerity of everyone in the room, not just her.’’
