Italian Americans, being impressive

The Pirandello Lyceum has announced this year’s I Migliori award winners, who will be feted at a dinner on April 4 at the Logan Hilton. (And the menu will be…Italian?) The awards recognize people of Italian descent contributing to their professions, society and the Italian American community.
New Mass. House Speaker Robert DeLeo made the list for public service, along with Suffolk University V.P. John A. Nucci, for public service and education. Also honored: Consul General of Italy Liborio Stellino; Dr. John Alcorn and Anna Quadri, for promoting Italian history and culture; Raffael De Gruttola, for education; and Dr. Pasquale Tassone for music and music composition.
Past recipients of the 24-year-old award include Mayor Tom Menino and his wife Angela, and former Gov. Paul Cellucci. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the organization’s scholarship fund.
