OK Mahtha...here's a role f'you.

I'm a mutt of Irish and UK decent. I can do a better/more accurate Boston accent than anyone you probably know. When I say Boston, I'm being general. I can do the fall down weasel drunk from Dorchester or the priveleged kid grew up on Beacon Hill with a summer house in Duxbury. Scatterbrain coke head from Southie who tells asonyn stories at the speed of light, that's my favorite. I can do them because they're all in my family. I'm also above average looks (despite a nose I've broken 3 times), intelligence and a performance artist (musician, stand up) stuck in a BS financial job. Hook it up brotha, I'm off to sit by the common and thow beer caps at those quackermouth retards riding around on those ridiculous duck ships.

I'd go, as I have a Boston accent, but I don't want to be in a film with Ben Affleck. He did a decent job directing Gone Baby Gone, but is deadly onscreen.
Posted by JChrisMay 29, 09 01:36 AM
Hey Keith. I have an education also. But am a proud Bostonian with what most think is a great accent. What do you have to say about that?
Posted by JackiMay 29, 09 01:43 AM
Thomas F. Jewett,
I think you mean asinine, not asonyn. I would want you to look asinine. If asonyn is a British spelling, please disabuse me.

Keith, dear, you can be highly intelligent, speak articulately and still have a beautiful...closest to true English...Boston accent. I'm VERY proud of my Boston accent and my bachelor's degree from Boston University (on full scholarship thank you very much). I think people who artificially pronounce their r's sound ridiculous...good luck with that. You probably try so hard that you even add r's where they don't belong.

Born in Boston, raised in Cambridge, but no Boston accent. I'm still going to audition, though.

Melanie you sound like this guy I know, named Michael, are you sure your name is Melanie?
Posted by KennyMay 29, 09 01:45 PM
Yes, I am, but I always liked the name Michael. He must be a great guy who is also proud of his beautiful Boston accent. : )

Your attempted Bostonian accents suck the big one. I go to college too, but it doesn't mean I need to acknowlege my ah's.

Melanie - you go girl! She IS wicked SMAHT and one of my BFF's and she could likely beat Keith in any contest of wit, strength or otherwise. Funny how people like Keith would judge people by something as superficial as an accent.

Hi,
I just seen Ben on the television. It was my son who told me they were looking for Boston accents. I missed it. A true Boston accent is nasal and loud, especially the females. I wish I was 40 years younger. Going to hit 60, still can talk though. The Charlestown girls had a specific accent, with nasal overtones. I was stopped at a red light once where two visitors from the South, yelled over for me to talk. They said, you sound like the news. FIrst time I was ever complimented on the accent, lol. Those from Beacon Hill's accent is little different. Day late dollar short.
