Hair, hair!

Tony nominations are out, and Diane Paulus must be beaming: The American Repertory Theater’s new artistic director is nominated for best director of a musical, for “Hair.” The Broadway lovefest also scored noms for best revival of a musical, best actor and best featured actor in a musical -- Gavin Creel and Will Swenson -- as well as for Karole Armitage’s choreography, Michael McDonald’s costumes, Kevin Adams’s lights, and Acme Sound Partners’ sound. Marin Ireland, on Boston Common last summer in Free Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” got a nod for her featured performance in Neil LaBute’s “Reasons to be Pretty.” Other heavy hitters on the list: “God of Carnage” (director Matthew Warchus was tapped for that and for “The Norman Conquests”), “Dividing the Estate,” “Billy Elliot: The Musical,” and “Shrek.” Complete nominations, announced this morning in Times Square by previous winners Cynthia Nixon and Lin-Manuel Miranda, are online at www.tonyawards.com; the awards ceremony is June 7.
