You can blame Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford's interest in fast cars for his absence Tuesday night. The band plays at the Comcast Center with Dropkick Murphys and ZZ Top, but Whitford won't be there. Joe Perry tells Reuters that Whitford suffered internal bleeding after banging his head while getting out of his Ferrari a few weeks ago. “It built up pressure and gave him this whoopin’ headache,” Perry said. “He’s not prone to getting migraines, so knew something was wrong. He went right in, they did what they had to do, and now he’s getting better.” Because the injury required surgery, the band enlisted guitarist Bobby Schneck. Whitford is expected to return for the band’s July 7th show in Raleigh, N.C.
