We're told Paul McCartney will indeed perform at Fenway Park Aug. 5 and 6, and an official announcement could come tomorrow. Mayor Tom Menino's Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing held a public hearing Monday night, and director Patricia Malone is expected to have something to say about the shows today. The former Beatle has already announced plans to gig at Citi Field in New York July 17, 18, and 19, and FedEx Field in D.C. Aug 1.

  1. Did you run this photo because John Lennon will be there, too. Is this the only McCartney pic in the Globe's vast library you just had to print? How do you sleep?

  1. Paul McCartney is a music icon and I'm thrilled to see him at Fenway. Already got tickets on the lawn. Can't think of anything better.

  1. Wow... lot of hate here. What's the matter with a person wanting to do what he loves regardless of his age? I'm really looking forward to this show! Paul McCartney can still perform.
