Lyder's gospel

Dorchester native Erin Daneele Lyder was kicked off the "American Idol"-esque reality television show "Gospel Dream 2009" last week, but that doesn't mean she's giving up on a high-profile music career. Lyder, 24, got the call that she had been chosen to audition for the show the day before graduating from Berklee College of Music in May. She almost immediately flew to Nashville, where she wound up sticking around until the semi-final round of the Gospel Music Channel series. Lyder was kicked off before the finals last week and sent home to Boston -- but there are no hard feelings. "I have already been keeping in touch with the people there, who I met," Lyder told us, adding with pride, "Mitchell Solarek actually wrote me a letter in regards to my career." Solarek, a gospel music exec, is one of the show's three judges along with Michelle Williams, of Destiny's Child, and producer J. Moss. Now that Lyder is back home, she says she'll continue to perform locally at the Global Ministry Christian Church. But she admits she's already planning for bigger things. "I don't think that I'll stay in Boston."
