Two 'Serious' men
![]()
Josh Reynolds for The Boston Globe
Actors Michael Stuhlbarg (left) and Aaron Wolff, (right) who star in the new Joel and Ethan Coen movie "A Serious Man," were at Brandeis University last night night for a screening of the dark comedy, which is set in a Jewish suburb of Minneapolis in the late 1960s.
Stuhlberg told the audience that he hired a Yiddish tutor to prepare for the audition, but apparently, he still has plenty to learn. During the Q&A portion of the night, Sthulbarg hugged his young co-star, who now lives in Newton, and referred to him as a "bubbe." For those who don't know, that translates as "grandma." The young Wolff didn't appear to mind.
