We're told Taylor Swift, who just won Entertainer of Year at the Country Music Awards, will play her first headlining stadium show in Foxborough. That's right, Swift, who's been playing arenas on this tour, jumps up to the big time with a show at Gillette Stadium in early June. (Tickets go on sale next month.) In winning Entertainer of the Year, the 19-year-old newcomer beat out old boys Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and George Strait. (The last solo female artist to win the award was Shania Twain 1999.) Swift, who's touring in support of her platinum-selling CD "Fearless," is an excellent bet to fill Gillette considering the success of the New England Country Music Festival, which is held annually at the stadium. Since 2006, Swift has had 11 tunes debut in the top 30, according to Billboard. Only the Beatles have totaled more top 30 starts in the Hot 100's archives. Swift isn't the only act who'll rev up the Razor next summer. Bill Belichick's buddy Jon Bon Jovi will play Gillette July 24.
