Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel spouse Gisele Bundchen have a baby boy. Speaking at his weekly press conference this morning, Brady confirmed the birth and said mother and child are doing well, even if he's a little tired.

"It’s obviously a wonderful experience in my life, but I owe it to the guys in the locker room to really be focused on what I need to do this week for this team and what I have to do today," Brady said. "Put all those emotions aside and come in here with a great sense of determination for what we have to do as a team. As a captain and a leader of this team, the last thing they need from me is to be not really focused on the job at hand. It’s really a normal week for me in that sense."

A source close to Bundchen also told us that the Brazilian beauty's mom and at least a few of her sisters were at her bedside when she delivered the baby. Other details of the birth, which was first reported by People.com, as well as the baby's name have not been disclosed.

"It went great," Brady told reporters at Gillette Stadium this morning. "I didn’t get much sleep, but I think that’s most of us around here this time of year. I think everyone is doing well."

Brady said he and his wife have not chosen a name yet, but before reporters could keep lobbing questions - or perhaps suggest a name or two - the QB cut them short.

"Let's talk football," he said.

Brady's commitment to the team was in stark contrast to four of his teammates, who couldn't make it on time for a meeting this morning and were sent home.

Bündchen, 29, and Brady, 32, were married in a private ceremony in February in Los Angeles, and in April the couple hosted a second wedding celebration for friends and family at Bündchen's surfside Costa Rican compound.

This is the first child for Bundchen, who's made no secret of her desire to have a large family. Brady has a 2-year-old son, John, with his ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan.

Brady said on the radio last week that he knew the baby's gender, but his wife preferred not to. In recent month, the couple, who bunk now at Brady's Beacon Street townhouse, have been shopping for a larger home in the suburbs.

Bill Belichick said this morning that Brady will practice and play as usual this week. The coach was typically stonefaced even as he talked about his QB's baby. Asked if No. 12's availability would be affected, Belichick said, simply, "No."

Reps for the couple could not be reached for comment.
