Local producer Rosenberg brings a new show to primetime
Needham-bred, Boston University-educated television producer Scott
Rosenberg (below, right) isn't stressing out about whether his new show -- the murder
mystery drama "Happy Town -- will be well-received by critics.
At a Television Critics Association event on the West Coast last week, Rosenberg told us that his Massachusetts-set relationship drama “October Road” got a lukewarm critical response but managed to receive a second season pick-up, while his most recent show, the cancelled time-travel cop caper “Life on Mars” got “the greatest reviews of my career and it ran for 17 hours.”
He’s says he's given up on predicting what will work on television and will let “my mother worry about the reviews.”
Rosenberg will, however, worry about his favorite baseball team. “It’s all very exciting, we’ll see,” he said of the departure of Jason Bay and the recent signing of John Lackey. “I’m worried about Mike Lowell, I love him. It’s a scary time.” Rosenberg's "Happy Town," which stars "Jurassic Park"'s Sam Neill, debuts ABC next month.
