Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart and his wife Emiley (left) have a son. Edward Kellan Lockhart was born just after 4 a.m. this morning. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

No word on who little Edward was named after, but we have to wonder whether vampires had any influence. Last year, the website BabyCenter unveiled its list of most popular baby names and said that the very popular "Twilight" series had become a big influence on naming trends. The main character of the young adult book series is, of course, Edward. And actor Kellan Lutz plays Edward's brother Emmett.

Keith already has one son with his ex-wife Lucia Lin. Lockhart returns to Symphony Hall on May 4 to open the Pops's 125th season.
