Katy Perry has been deemed too risque for PBS kids. The network announced today it is canceling a planned appearance by Perry on the Sept. 27 season premiere of "Sesame Street." In a vaguely-worded statement, PBS flack Ellen Lewis said Perry was sent packing after parents objected to a video featuring the singer and "Sesame Street" character Elmo. "We value our viewer's opinions and particularly those of parents," said Lewis. "In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers." Perry's hits include "I Kissed a Girl" and "California Gurls."
