Backed by an ace band whose members all wore Afro wigs, singer Macy Gray wowed the crowd at the Wilbur. Gigging for MassEquality, Gray wandered offstage several times only to reappear a few minutes later in a different gown. (The R&B singer did a tune from her new CD "The Sellout," got the joint jumping with a batch of tunes from her multi-platinum debut, "On How Life Is," and had fun with a few covers, including Radiohead's "Creep," Queen's "We Are the Champions," Deee-Lite's "Groove is in the Heart," and Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?") Gray spent a few minutes at the after party at the W Hotel, where she posed with MassEquality exec Kara Suffredini, Kiss 108's Jim Clerkin, and WGBH's Jared Bowen, among others. From there, it was off to a paid appearance at Revolution, where she DJ'd for awhile. Good thing she fortified earlier in the night with a meal at the Beehive. Here's Macy doing "Creep" at a show awhile back:
