Obama getaway for sale

If President Obama wants to vacation again on Martha’s Vineyard, he may have to find a new place to stay. The 28-acre estate known as Blue Heron Farm is on the market, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which states that the property’s owner, Republican timber businessman William Van Devender, is asking $24.5 million for the place. The compound, which has hosted the First Family for the three years, is on Tisbury Great Pond in Chilmark.

NFL great Howie Long was honored in Charlestown yesterday as part of “Hometown Hall of Famers,’’ a national program honoring the hometown roots of some of the sport’s greatest players. We couldn’t resist asking Long, who grew up in Charlestown, what he thought of Ben Affleck ’s gritty heist drama, which is based in the ‘hood.

Stoughton native Kenny Wormald , and dancer-singer Julianne Hough , who star in the soon-to-be-released reboot of “Footloose,“ have been in Boston for the past few days promoting the film. On Tuesday night, the pair attended a sneak preview of the film at Regal Fenway and answered questions from the audience, which included a pack of Wormald‘s hometown friends and family .

Lucic’s girlfriend says dispute was overblown

It was all a big misunderstanding. That’s the word from Milan Lucic ’s girlfriend, Brittany Carnegie , after cops responded to a report of an assault and battery involving the Bruins forward and Brittany. Lucic was not charged in the incident, which was first reported by the Boston Herald, but witnesses told police they saw the 6-foot-4, 220-pound hockey player standing over Carnegie as she lay on the sidewalk on Commercial Street in the North End at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Yesterday, Carnegie took to Twitter to defend Lucic.
