Members of the Friends of Saxonville and Robinson’s Hardware are teaming up for an expanded Jingle Bell Day on Dec. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. that will feature entertainment, events, and shopping across the neighborhood. Participants should plan on stopping first at the Pinefield Shopping Center on Nicholas Road, where detailed programs will be handed out and horse-drawn hayrides will be running from noon to 2 p.m. Visitors can then head down Water Street toward Saxonville Village and take in arts and crafts displays, music, entertainment, food, storytelling, wine tasting, martial art demonstrations, and plenty of shopping. The artists at Saxonville Studios, 1602 Concord St., will be holding open studios from noon to 5 p.m., and Edwards Church at 39 Edwards St. is hosting its Alternative Gift Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. A tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. will cap off the afternoon on the portico of Athenaeum Hall.
