Re-creating nature

Email|Print| Text size +
December 1, 2007

At first glance, these art pieces look like Rorschach inkblot tests, but take a closer look and you'll see that they're far more decorative. These winged creatures, like "Blue Nymphidium", made of beeswax, ink, and china paper are part of Michelle Stuart's "Butterflies & Moths," which opens today at Judy Ann Goldman Fine Art. The artist, who has shown her works at the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University and Williams College Museum of Art, says she's always been interested in the natural world. Open today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (through Dec. 22, and Jan. 2-12). Free. Judy Ann Goldman Fine Art, 14 Newbury St., Boston. 617-424-8468. judygoldmanfineart.com
