Nightlife
Sexy Dr. Peter Venkman would certainly approve of tonight's Ghostbusters Party at Felt. The place will be decorated with black lights and partygoers will get glow sticks and glow necklaces to wear throughout the night. Your DJ will be White Shadow, who has played at parties thrown by Playboy and Maxim. And just in case you don't feel slimy enough, there will be "slime shots" available at the bar (green, we assume). 10 p.m. $10, Free before 11 p.m. with RSVP. Felt, 533 Washington St., Boston. 617-350-5555. feltboston .com

Nightlife
Snoop Dogg will not be at tonight's party at Vertigo, but his new CD will be. Mistrie Entertainment, which throws nightlife events around town, is hosting a CD-release party for Snoop's new album "Ego Trippin'," which will be in stores on Tuesday. The night doubles as a carnival costume party (think Brazil). Winners of a costume contest will get copies of Snoop's new album. $10. Vertigo, 126 State St., Boston. 617-723-7277. mistrie.com

Nightlife
"For the Love of Denim," a party at District Lounge, is a good girls' night-out option for tonight. The party, organized by local jeans company in-jean-ius and promoters at Polina Fashion, will include wine tastings, prizes, and a DJ playing Top 40. Your cover goes to the Center for Women & Enterprise, which helps women start their own businesses. 8 p.m. $15, $10 with the donation of a gently worn pair of jeans. 617-426-0180. districtboston.com

Folk/pop
One of the folk/pop world's most engaging troubadours, Patty Larkin comes to Boston for an intimate solo show that celebrates her contemplative new album, "Watch the Sky," which she assembled as one long stream of consciousness. The singer/songwriter/guitarist played every instrument on the album, right down to the bouzouki and toy organ. Tonight at the MFA, she'll complement live instrumentals with looped electronic material. 7:30 p.m. $20-$25. Museum of Fine Arts, Remis Auditorium, 465 Huntington Ave., Boston. 617-369-3300. mfa.org
