Sidekick's Meredith Goldstein is keen on DJs who spin pop music and restaurants that serve real food after 11 p.m. She answered your burning questions about what to do this weekend.

Mike__Guest_: It's my birthday weekend, I'm going to the sox game on Saturday, but i'd like some other fun things to do. Perhaps something music related.
Meredith_Goldstein: Hi Mike (and everyone else). Yes, it's time to chat about the weekend. Sox is a good plan. I'd hit up a festive restaurant before or after the game and then on Sunday, hit Somerville Open Studios. Noon to 6. Buy yourself a birthday trinket made by someone local.
Party_Girl__Guest_: Are there any places to dance this weekend?
Meredith_Goldstein: The Estate should be good on Friday. The DJs are Junkie XL and Tommie Sunshine. They're good remixers.
Charles_in_DC__Guest_: Hi, Meredith! I'm heading up to Boston this weekend with some friends from DC for a final getaway before getting married next weekend. Any advice on what we should do?
Meredith_Goldstein: I'm assuming you're not asking me for Centerfolds nonsense (I hope). I'd do it up in the city -- spa treatment (whether you're male or female -- maybe at Melt on Newbury), then maybe a game, then, at night, you see Ryan Landry's new show "Whizzin'." Then you sleep. Sunday brunch somewhere like Union in the South End maybe. Or Vee Vee in JP. That place has a new brunch.
Meredith_Goldstein: Anyone else have weekend questions?
saveferris__Guest_: nice video -- now, tell me whats happenin in hip hop this weekend
soxygirl__Guest_: The girls want tapas tonight -- heard anything/tried dali? I think its in somerville/
Meredith_Goldstein: Dali is great. And yes, it's in Somerville.
Meredith_Goldstein: Start there and then take the girls to Kickass Cupcakes in Davis.
terrier_nation_07__Guest_: Hey, do you have any suggestions for what to do on a second date with a guy you don't have much in common with?
Meredith_Goldstein: How about ... hmm. Good question. How about an activity. Boston Bowl in Dorchester is open 24 hours and it's a nice family party vibe on a weekend. You could do dinner first at Salsa's in South Boston. Everyone has burritos in common, yes?
terrier_nation_07__Guest_: also, can you give any tips on how to avoid the tourists this summer? they drive me insane
Meredith_Goldstein: Well, avoid the obvious places -- Faneuil Hall, duck boats ... but hours are also important. Tourists aren't out late at night. And for some reason, they don't visit the neighborhoods as much. Try dinner in East Boston and drinks in Dorchester.
terrier_nation_07__Guest_: thank you!
Meredith_Goldstein: No prob. Ok folks, enjoy the weekend. Check out Somerville Open Studios. If you need me, I'm at mgoldstein@globe.com. -- meredith
