Want to be a cable access cohost?

Globe Correspondent / May 5, 2008

Almost every Wednesday night for the past year, Adam Azia and Colleen Bertrand have hosted a relatively popular game show/talk show called "Fruit or Breast" on Somerville Cable Access Television (fruitorbreast.com). Each host has a trademark: Bertrand knits throughout each show; Azia sports a fruit-filled brassiere.

Alas, Bertrand is leaving the show to spend more time with her family. Saddened but not defeated, Azia is holding open auditions for a new cohost. "She should truly believe in the show's mantra of being silly and not living a dry, yeastless factuality," says Azia, an advertising salesman by day. "If she has a talent akin to knitting, that would be even cooler."

Tryouts will take place Thursday from 8 to 10 p.m. at Bukowski's Tavern (1281 Cambridge St., Cambridge). Azia asks only that the potential host be over 21 - and a woman. "It's hard enough for me to connect with another human being," he says. "It's a little easier for me if that human is female."
