"According to Tip"

Ken Howard's charm and wit as Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill overcome the occasional awkwardnesses of Dick Flavin's play about the legendary speaker of the House. New Rep's premiere, directed by Rick Lombardo, runs through July 13 in Watertown. 617-923-8487, newrep.org

"Candida"

Anders Cato directs George Bernard Shaw's comedy with clarity and wit; Jayne Atkinson is first among equals as the wise, playful Candida. Closes tomorrow at Berkshire Theatre Festival, Stockbridge. 413-298-5576, berkshiretheatre.org

"She Loves Me"

Nicholas Martin's farewell production at the Huntington Theatre Company - now opening his first season as artistic director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival - is a sweet, stylish revival of a charming musical that, as Martin argues, should be better known than it is. Through July 12 at Williamstown. 413-597-3400, wtfestival.org
