Like Jamaica Plain, which hosts a celebration on the first Thursday of the month, East Arlington is now hosting its own Thursday night party - only this one is on the third Thursday on the month. In the commercial district just south of the Capitol Theatre on Massachusetts Avenue, an area being called Capitol Square, you can take advantage of special bargains at local businesses, each of which will also offer entertainment or food. At tonight's inaugural Third Thursdays event, make sure to stop by 13Forest Gallery, recently relocated from Medford, for the reception for "Drawn In," a new exhibition of work by David Colombo, Nancy Popper, and Yossi Veissid, all of whom like to depict imaginary places. 6 to 8 p.m. Free. 13Forest Gallery, 167a Massachusetts Ave., Arlington. 781-641-3333. pigmentiagallery.com

ALSO TONIGHT: Bela Fleck performs as part of the Lowell Summer Music Series, and the Forest Hills Cemetery hosts its 10th annual Lantern Festival.
