Sidekick's Meredith Goldstein is keen on DJs who spin pop music and restaurants that serve real food after 11 p.m. She answered your burning questions about what to do this weekend.

Meredith_Goldstein: Hi there. It's Meredith Goldstein with the Boston Globe. Want to know what to do this weekend? Ask away.

jules__Guest_: Hi Meredith, what is fun to do on Saturday night?
Meredith_Goldstein: Salsa Boston has a great event on the banks of the Charles River on Saturday night. salsaboston.com. Also, A Tribe Called Quest is at the Comcast Center. Should be a great show.
bboy__Guest_: Any special outdoor or free events this weekend, Meredith?
Meredith_Goldstein: It's your last chance to catch the Barnstable County Fair. The Village People perform Friday night. Not sure if that's an actual draw, but it's something.
Meredith_Goldstein: Anyone going to George Michael on Sunday night at the Garden? I am.
jules__Guest_: Where is a fun place to grab a drink in the South End?
Meredith_Goldstein: Banq, Tremont 647 ... Franklin Cafe ...
Meredith_Goldstein: Your thoughts? Anyone else have a favorite South End drink spot?
jules__Guest_: ohhh thanks!
Meredith_Goldstein: No prob
jules__Guest_: How about young Jewish singles, know where they may go?
Meredith_Goldstein: I think they go everywhere :) But there are certainly Jewish singles events around town. You can find some good mingling events here: geshercity.org/web/boston
bboy__Guest_: George Michael or Village People? those options, where do you go wrong?
Meredith_Goldstein: Nothing is wrong about George Michael, bboy.
bboy__Guest_: Speaking of South End, have you tried that newish place next to Cleary's?
Meredith_Goldstein: Brownstone? Yeah -- to me, it seemed like a grown-up Clery's. It's a good place to have a drink if you want something more quiet with less of a line than they do next door. irishconnection.com/brownstone.html
jules__Guest_: No, is it called Brownstone?
jules__Guest_: Coda is great, everyone should try it for a drink or dinner!
Meredith_Goldstein: Coda is right around the corner. I think I was into the burger at Coda when I went.
snoopdogga__Guest_: so did you go to samantha ronson's dj thing last night? I'm dying to know if her sidekick was there?
Meredith_Goldstein: I did not go, sadly. Was feeling a bit under the weather. But I've heard rumors that a certain Sidekick might have been in the area. Still looking into it.
The_Fliz__Guest_: Headed out with a bunch of the fellas tonight -- any good events going on for a guys night out this evening?
Meredith_Goldstein: No game, right? Hmm. Well, the Aquarium has a baseball series at its IMAX this summer. Tonight, you guys can see "Eight Men Out." Next Thursday it's "The Natural." You could get a few beers after -- Faneuil Hall shouldn't be too crazy on a Thursday. Maybe Salty Dog if the rain stops?
Somersalsa__Guest_: My sis is in town with her two kids: 2 &4. weve already done the childrens museum, mos, etc. something else for lil kids? Loooks like it will be rainy?
Meredith_Goldstein: ssnsc.org I'm into that place. Nature, etc. Artbeat in Arlington also has great Saturday programs for kids. artbeatonline.com/workshops/July2008.html
jules__Guest_: Meredith, do you know all of these events off the top of your head?
Meredith_Goldstein: Kind of. It's scary, right?
Meredith_Goldstein: If anyone was at last night's Samantha Ronson party, I'd love to hear about it.
rainydayblues__Guest_: i heard on the radio that li-lo was in town.
rainydayblues__Guest_: that's about it for that.
Meredith_Goldstein: Li-lo. I wonder where she went around town.
rainydayblues__Guest_: anyone have recommendations for places to go on weeknights?
Meredith_Goldstein: Any weeknight? I'm actually excited to go to the Milky Way on Monday. It's hosting an "Ice Cream People" party. There will be artists at the bar drawing beings that are half ice cream, half human.
Meredith_Goldstein: I tend to think that neighborhood bars are good on weeknights. I like to stay around JP because it's close to me, and it's always hopping in Cambridge and Somerville.
fthrfigure__Guest_: Hiw many tickets r left for George on sunday?
Meredith_Goldstein: too many, in my opinion. Why isn't this show sold out??
Meredith_Goldstein: They supposedly released some really good seats, so it's worth checking on ticketmaster.
tt__Guest_: Dear Li-Lo, Brody Jenner, Pete Wentz and Audrina. Stay away from my favorite hangouts and all will be well.
Meredith_Goldstein: What are your favorite hangouts? Just so they know ... (I don't think Li-Lo wants anywhere near my favorite hangouts -- I can't really see her wandering around JP)
Meredith_Goldstein: Ok -- I'm off to lunch. If you have any more questions (or Li-Lo concerns) I'm at mgoldstein@globe.com.
