Manchester by the Sea is known for its gorgeous Singing Beach, and now it will also be known for its arts and crafts celebration. Today the toney town is holding the first Manchester Arts Festival, with more than 60 professional artisans selling jewelry, ceramics, paintings, prints, quilts, decoupage bags, photos, belts, and more. Look for Gloucester's Meredith Anderson, who uses pearls, beads, sterling silver, and vermeil (gold over sterling) to create lovely earrings and necklaces (prices start at around $45). There will be music all day, including singer/fiddler Lissa Schneckenberger's performance from noon-2 p.m.
9 a.m.-5 p.m. (rain date Sunday). Downtown Manchester by the Sea. 978-283-1601.
