Local artist and musician Dan Blakeslee has an alter ego. His name is Doctor Gasp, and he is a very scary man. Every year, Gasp puts on a creep show, the kind that charms fans of old-school cult horror films. Tonight you can see the good doctor perform his sixth annual Halloween Special at the Pierre Menard Gallery in Harvard Square. The show will probably include a performance of Gasp's song "The Vampire Fish," which sounds a bit like a Halloween-themed "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." If you can't make it tonight, Gasp performs again at the Gulu-Gulu Cafe in Salem Oct. 18. 9 p.m. $7. Pierre Menard Gallery, 10 Arrow St., Cambridge. 617-868-2033. www.pierremenardgallery.com
ALSO TONIGHT: Coolidge Corner Theatre hosts the Found Footage Festival, which features hilarious, kitschy film footage discovered in warehouses and at garage sales. Dreamy alt-pop singer Sarah RabDAU sings at club Rumor as part of a fund-raiser for the sci-fi film "Aerodynamics."![]()
