WALK

How does their garden grow?

Your yard might not be a blooming bonanza - yet - but you can see how spring has sprung at Free Walking Tours at the Arnold Arboretum. With 265 acres and more than 4,000 varieties of trees and shrubs, there's always something coming or going in this urban nirvana. This week's botanical menu includes witch hazels, pussy willows, honeysuckle, cornelian cherry, and perhaps some early magnolias, cherries, and forsythia. The guided walking tours are 60-90 minutes and geared toward adults (check the website for family activities). April 11 at 10:30 a.m., rain or shine (see website for complete schedule through November). Free. Meet at the Hunnewell Building Visitor Center, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, 125 Arborway, Boston. 617-384-5209. www.arboretum.harvard.edu
