Bridgewater: Friday, Battle of the Bands, East Bridgewater Commercial Club, 7 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m., parade; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., arts and crafts festival, food, games, music at Boyden Hall, Bridgewater State College. www.bridgewater4th.com.
Brockton: Fireworks on July 3, 4, 5, 10, and 11 at 10:30 p.m. as part of the annual Brockton Fair at the Brockton Fairgrounds. www.brocktonfair.com.
Buzzards Bay: The town’s 3d annual Fourth of July parade is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The parade will begin at the intersection of Academy Drive and Main Street, and will make its way to the Bourne Veterans Community Building about a mile away.www.bourneonthe4thofjuly.org.
Duxbury: Parade will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall’s Corner and will end at Duxbury High School, 130 George St. The town will host a variety of other events the week of the Fourth, including a road race, improvisational comedy show, holiday concert, and beach party. 781-834-2731, ext. 4. www.duxbury4thofjuly.com.
Fall River: Events Saturday include 6 to 9 p.m. concert with fireworks following, at Heritage State Park, Route 79. Carnival Friday and Saturday 5 to 10 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Canceled in case of rain.
Freetown: July 3 Friday, Hathaway Park, fair and games, beginning at 6 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m. July 4, parade begins at 10 a.m. at South Main and Water streets, Assonet.
Halifax: July 4th and 275th anniversary celebration begins Saturday, 9:30 a.m., with a parade. There will be games, music, and demonstrations all day. Fireworks, 9:15 p.m., at the Halifax Elementary School, Route 106.
Hingham: Fireworks will be held in celebration of Independence Day on the Hingham Bathing Beach, 95 Otis St., Friday around 9 p.m. (Rain date Sunday.) Hingham will hold a variety of events including a road race, pancake breakfast, and parade at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is “Favorite Places.’’ The parade will start at Hingham High School on Pleasant Street and end at Station Street. Hull: Independence Day concert from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nantasket Beach, with a performance by Four Guys in Tuxes. Saturday, Bernie King Pavilion, 260 Nantasket Ave. Free.
Marion: Saturday, parade, 9 a.m., the ball field behind the Marion Town House adjacent to Sippican School. Concert, 8 p.m., and fireworks, 9 p.m., at Silvershell Beach.
Mattapoisett: Saturday, 9 a.m. 39th Mattapoisett 5-mile Road Race at Shipyard Park. Runners can register at www.signmeup.com. For details, visit www.mattapoisettroadrace.com.
Middleborough: Through Sunday, carnival at Peirce Playground, 26 Jackson St. Fireworks, July 3, 9 p.m. at Peirce Playground (rain date July 5). Saturday, North Middleborough parade, Pratt Free School, 10 a.m. Races, games, 1 p.m. Peirce Playground.
Norwell: Norwell’s 34th annual July 4 Road Race will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Circut Street (around the corner from Town Hall) and follow a 5-mile scenic loop to end at Town Hall. Registration is from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
Norwood: Saturday, carillon concert, 3:30 p.m., Town Common. Annual Firecracker 5K Road Race, 5:30 p.m. Parade to follow.
Plymouth: Fireworks will be held off the Plymouth waterfront, Water Street, at dusk, around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Randolph: Parade will begin at the Boston Higashi School at 800 North Main St. and will end on Memorial Drive in front of the Randolph Fire station. Friday, 7 p.m.
Sharon: Sharon’s annual Independence Day Celebration includes fireworks, food, and entertainment. See website for information. Friday, 7 p.m., Memorial Park Beach, 50 Beach St., Sharon. www.sharonjuly4.org.
Stoughton: The Stoughton town fireworks will take place on Friday at 9:30 p.m. and the parade will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. The fireworks display will be on the Stoughton High football field, at 232 Pearl St. The parade will be Sunday at 2 p.m., forming at Park and Prospect streets and continuing down Route 27 to Stoughton Square, and then to Washington and Central Streets before disbanding at the DPW facility.
Walpole: Friday, parade, 6 p.m., East Street between June and Washington streets, East Walpole. Food, fireworks, 9:30 p.m.
Wareham: Fireworks will be shot off in Onset Harbor at dusk Saturday (around 9 p.m.). The town will also hold its annual antiques fair on the town green.
Weymouth: Friday, 5 p.m. Family entertainment at Wessagusset Beach to celebrate Independence Day. Includes live music, KJ and fireworks. 5 p.m., bus shuttle available from Whipple Senior Center, 182 Green St.![]()
