Berklee College of Music’s first opera makes a loud entrance. Larry Bell’s rock opera “Holy Ghosts,’’ based on the play by Romulus Linney, is set in the rural South where religious worship is taken even more seriously than music studies at Berklee. The production features hymns, testimonies, a salvation scene, a poisonous snake (the theater kind), opera singers Robert Honeysucker, Matthew DiBattista, Natalie Polito (above), and others - all accompanied by a rock band. Sept. 15 at 8:15 p.m. $10, $5 seniors, $2-$5 kids. Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Ave., Boston. www.larrybellmusic.com
