A career with the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats begins around age 6, when Chinese children audition for acrobatic schools that are often far from home. The little ones train in gymnastics, juggling, martial arts, and balancing skills, hoping to be selected as members of the elite troupe when they are 16 to 18. Enjoy the fruits of their labors tomorrow at Northeastern University. Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. $20, $10 students and seniors. Northeastern University’s Blackman Auditorium, Ell Hall, 360 Huntington Ave., Boston. 617-373-4700. www.centerforthearts.neu.edu
