Our method of tea preparation is shameful compared with the “Boston Tea Party: Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience.’’ Tea instructor Kyoko Wada will follow the seven rules of Chado which include making a satisfying bowl of tea, laying charcoal for the water to boil sufficiently, arranging flowers as though they were in the field, and acting with consideration toward guests. We would fail miserably. Tomorrow’s theme is “Seijaku’’ (tranquillity). Nov. 8 at 10 a.m., 11:40 a.m., and 1:20 p.m. $15 per session. Sanzashi-An Tea House, Showa Boston Institute, 420 Pond St., Jamaica Plain. 781-860-0373. web.mit.edu/chado/www/index.html
