Things to do
“Christian Science is humanity’s boon. Mother Eddy deserves a place in the Trinity as much as any member of it. She has organized and made available a healing principle that for 2,000 years has never been employed, except as the merest guesswork. She is the benefactor of the age.’’ This is Mark Twain’s tribute to the founder of the controversial Church of Christian Science. Eddy has another admirer, Val Kilmer (pictured), actor, filmmaker, and devout Christian Scientist, who will talk about his upcoming film, “Mark Twain and Mary Baker Eddy.’’ Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. $15, $8. Reservations are recommended. Mary Baker Eddy Library, 200 Massachusetts Ave., Boston. 617-450-7200. www.marybakereddylibrary.org ![]()
