Seeing John Malkovich In 1976, Jack Unterweger was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a young girl. The model prisoner and author of his autobiography, ‘‘Purgatory,’’ was paroled in 1990 and killed 11 more women. In Michael Sturminger’s ‘‘The Infernal Comedy: Confessions of a Serial Killer,’’ John Malkovich plays the ‘‘bad, bad guy’’ (as described by the actor) who comes back from the grave for a book tour. Each monologue ends with an aria. Sept. 29 and 30 at 8 p.m. $25-$195. Recommended for ages 15 and older. Cutler Majestic Theatre, 219 Tremont St., Boston. 617-824-8400. www.artsemerson.org
