Eat your vegetables, support a good cause

A group of local chefs will get together to have some fun cooking with local produce while they celebrate some of the people who are growing it. On Sept. 15, Flora in Arlington will host a harvest dinner to benefit the Farm School, a working nonprofit farm in north central Massachusetts that offers agricultural programs for school-age children and young adults. Farm School vegetables and produce from other local growers will be on the menu, which will be prepared by Flora's Bob Sargent, Paul O'Connell of Chez Henri, Chris Schlesinger of East Coast Grill, Ana Sortun of Oleana, and Steve Johnson, formerly of the Blue Room.

Flora is at 190 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington. The harvest benefit dinner costs $150 per person. Call 978-249-2656 or go to www.farmschool.org.
