Drop till you stop

Once you open the silver pouch of Dagoba's ChocoDrops -- which are really tiny disks -- and taste the polished half-rounds of 73 percent dark chocolate, you might keep going and going until you discover there's not enough left to bake cookies. Dagoba Organic Chocolate, founded three years ago in Oregon by "alchemist" Frederick Schilling, makes premium drops as well as chocolate bars flavored with lime, mint, and lavender, among many others. And in case you don't devour the entire bag, you can bake with the drops just as you would traditional chips.

LISA ZWIRNChocoDrops (about $8.50 for 8 ounces) are available at Wasik's Cheese Shop, 61 Central St., Wellesley, 781-237-8650; Lionette's, 577 Tremont St., 617-778-0361; and Dairy Fresh Candies, 57 Salem St., 617-742-2639; or go to www.dagobachocolate.com.
