Serves 4
| 1 | teaspoon toasted sesame oil |
| 2 | tablespoons soy sauce |
| 1/2 | teaspoon coarse salt |
| 1 | teaspoon sugar |
| 2 | tablespoons vegetable oil |
| 1 | pound green beans, trimmed |
| 1/4 | cup water |
| 1 | tablespoon white (hulled) sesame seeds |
2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil. Cook the green beans over high heat, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Add the water. Immediately cover the pan, lower the heat to medium, and cook the beans for 3 minutes or until they are just tender but still bright green.
3. Remove the cover, raise the heat to evaporate any remaining water, and add the sesame oil mixture; reduce the sauce for 1 to 2 minutes to thicken it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.![]()
