Cooking Good

Learn to make pasta and sauces like a North End chef.

So you don’t have time for a pasta apprenticeship in Italy. You can still learn how to make a mean spaghetti just a flight above Hanover Street in the North End. Italian restaurant Marco closes its dining room but opens its kitchen the first Monday of every month for chef Matt Abdoo and 16 students ($75 includes food, wine, and instruction). How’s this for a Valentine’s Day gesture? Sign up with your sweetheart for the March class and learn how to make your own pasta and to master Bolognese and pomodoro sauces and linguine with clams. – Christie Matheson
